The full Terms and Conditions governing entry into The Golden Passport. Written to be read, not skimmed - but structured so you can find the bit you need.

Back to home

These Terms and Conditions govern your entry into, and participation in, prize draws operated by The Golden Passport Ltd. By entering any draw, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't enter.

The essentials, in one paragraph The Golden Passport is a UK prize draw, not a lottery. To enter, you must be 18 or over and a UK resident. Entry is either by paid purchase online (from £2) or by free postal entry - both routes have the same chance of winning. The prize for Draw One is a £20,000 gift voucher redeemable through a licensed UK travel concierge, a UK luxury travel concierge. The draw closes on 31 July 2026 at 23:59 BST and the winner is drawn within 7 days of closing.
  1. The Promoter

    The promoter of this prize draw is The Golden Passport Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17173453. Registered office: Newcastle upon Tyne.

    Trading as "The Golden Passport". Contact: ollie@thegoldenpassport.co.uk. Website: thegoldenpassport.co.uk.

    In these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean The Golden Passport Ltd. "You" means the entrant.

  2. What this is (and isn't)

    The Golden Passport is a prize draw operating under the Gambling Act 2005. It is not a lottery. This is made possible by offering a genuine, equivalent free entry route - detailed at clause 6 - that has the same chance of winning as any paid entry.

    We follow the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators and the CAP Code published by the Advertising Standards Authority.

  3. Eligibility

    To enter any Golden Passport prize draw, you must:

    • Be aged 18 or over at the time of entry;
    • Be a legal resident of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland);
    • Not be an employee, director, contractor, or agent of The Golden Passport Ltd, a premier luxury travel concierge, or any charity partner publicly announced in connection with the relevant draw - or an immediate family member living in the same household as any such person.

    We reserve the right to refuse entry, or to disqualify any entry, where we reasonably suspect that these eligibility criteria have not been met. Disqualified paid entries will be refunded (less payment processing fees where unavoidable) unless the disqualification results from fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse.

  4. The Prize

    The prize for Draw One is a £20,000 gift voucher issued in the winner's name, redeemable through a premier luxury travel concierge, a UK-based luxury travel concierge. The voucher entitles the winner to a bespoke luxury travel itinerary designed by a premier luxury travel concierge, up to a maximum total value of £20,000 (including all flights, accommodation, transfers, experiences, and associated travel costs).

    Key prize terms:

    • The prize is the voucher. The voucher is delivered on successful winner verification. The travel itinerary is designed and booked by a premier luxury travel concierge thereafter, with the winner's agreement.
    • Up to £20,000 total value. Any costs exceeding £20,000 - for example, upgrades chosen by the winner above the designed itinerary, additional travellers, extensions, or optional extras - are the winner's own responsibility and must be paid directly to a premier luxury travel concierge or the relevant supplier.
    • Redemption window: 12 months. The winner must confirm travel dates and a destination brief with a premier luxury travel concierge within 12 months of voucher issue. The trip itself may be taken later if that is what the itinerary requires; what matters is commitment within 12 months. Extensions may be granted at our reasonable discretion in exceptional circumstances.
    • Travel protection. Travel arrangements are booked by a premier luxury travel concierge under their standard terms and applicable consumer protections (including ATOL and ABTA cover where required by law).
    • No cash alternative. The prize is the voucher and the travel it enables. It is not exchangeable for cash, in whole or part, and is not transferable other than as set out in clause 5.
    • Reasonable feasibility. a premier luxury travel concierge and the Promoter reserve the right to decline any destination or itinerary that is unsafe, unlawful, subject to UK Foreign Office advice against travel, or not feasible within the prize budget. In such cases, the winner will be offered reasonable alternatives.
    • Equivalent substitution. If circumstances beyond our reasonable control (for example, insolvency of a supplier, travel restrictions, or force majeure events) make the prize as described impossible to deliver, we may substitute a prize of equivalent value. We will not reduce the total value of the prize below £20,000.
  5. Transferability and companions

    The voucher is issued in the winner's name and is not transferable, except that the winner may nominate a companion or companions to travel with them. Travel costs for companions come out of the £20,000 total. The winner must travel on the trip they are awarded.

    If the winner wishes to transfer the voucher to another person entirely (for example, as a gift), this may be permitted at our reasonable discretion. We will only unreasonably withhold consent in narrow circumstances - for example, where the proposed transferee is not eligible under clause 3.

  6. How to enter: paid and free routes

    Both entry routes below are entered into the same draw pool and have exactly the same probability of being selected as the winner. No purchase is necessary to enter, or to have a chance of winning. This is a legal requirement of any UK prize draw operating outside a lottery licence, and it is enforced.

    6a · Paid online entry

    Paid entries are made online at thegoldenpassport.co.uk. Entries are priced from £2. The price per entry, any available bundles, and the total cost are clearly shown before payment is confirmed. Payment is taken by a UK-regulated payment processor; no card details are stored by us.

    On successful payment, you will receive a confirmation email within a reasonable time, detailing the number of entries purchased and the draw they are entered into. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us.

    There is no limit on the number of paid entries a single entrant may make, subject to the Promoter's right to refuse or disqualify entries where fraud, abuse, or a breach of these Terms is reasonably suspected.

    6b · Free postal entry

    To enter without payment, send a hand-written or typed single sheet of paper (A4 or smaller) containing:

    1. Your full name;
    2. Your full postal address, including postcode;
    3. Your date of birth (to confirm you are aged 18 or over);
    4. A valid email address (so we can contact you if you win);
    5. The statement: "I wish to enter The Golden Passport Draw One."

    Send your entry to:

    Postal entries - Draw One The Golden Passport Ltd
    Draw One Free Entry
    Address pending - published on the draw page at thegoldenpassport.co.uk/draw before Draw One opens on 1 June 2026.

    Rules for free postal entries:

    • One entry per envelope. Multiple entries on a single sheet, or multiple sheets in a single envelope, count as a single entry.
    • Postage is paid by the entrant. Normal postal rates apply; nothing more is charged by us.
    • Entries must be received by the closing date and time. Entries received after the closing date will not be entered, regardless of postmark. Allow at least 7 working days for delivery.
    • Entries that are illegible, incomplete, or do not contain the statement set out above will not be entered into the draw.
    • We are not responsible for postal delays, losses, or damage. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
    • We will not return any postal entries, and will destroy them securely in accordance with the Privacy Policy after the draw is complete.

    Every postal entry that meets these requirements is added to the draw pool alongside paid entries and has the same chance of winning as any paid entry. The draw makes no distinction between paid and free entries at the point of selection.

  7. Draw dates and closing time

    Draw One opens on 1 June 2026 at 00:01 BST and closes on 31 July 2026 at 23:59 BST.

    The draw itself takes place within 7 days of closing. The precise draw date and time will be confirmed on the draw page at least 7 days in advance.

    We reserve the right to extend or postpone the closing date in exceptional circumstances (for example, technical failure or force majeure), provided that any extension is clearly announced on the website and by email to paid entrants before the original closing time.

  8. How the winner is selected

    The winner is selected at random from all valid entries in the draw pool, using a verifiably random method (for example, a certified random number generator or equivalent physical method). The draw is conducted in the presence of an independent witness.

    The method used, the date and time of the draw, and the name of the independent witness are recorded and published on this website after the draw. On reasonable request, we will share a summary audit record with any entrant who asks.

    The Promoter's decision on the conduct and outcome of the draw is final. Where a complaint is raised, we will respond in good faith under clause 14.

  9. Notifying the winner

    The winner is notified by email and by phone within 48 hours of the draw taking place, using the contact details supplied with their winning entry.

    If we are unable to reach the winner within 14 days of the draw, despite reasonable attempts, we will take further reasonable steps to make contact over the following 14 days. If after 28 days from the draw we have still been unable to make contact, we may, at our discretion, draw a replacement winner from the remaining valid entries.

    Before the prize is issued, the winner must pass basic identity and eligibility checks, including providing proof of age (passport, driving licence, or equivalent) and proof of UK residency (utility bill or equivalent dated within the last 3 months). These checks exist solely to confirm eligibility under clause 3 and are handled under the Privacy Policy.

  10. Publication of the winner's details

    By entering, you acknowledge that if you win, we will publish your first name and the town where you live on the website and in press coverage of the draw. This is required by the CAP Code to confirm that a prize has been genuinely awarded.

    If you would prefer not to have even this information published, please let us know in writing when we notify you, and we will arrange anonymous publication - for example, "winner from the North East" - while still providing sufficient evidence to independent bodies on request that the prize was awarded.

    We will never publish your full name, full address, email address, phone number, or any other personal details without your explicit consent.

  11. Refunds and cancellation

    Paid entries are not generally refundable once the draw has opened and the entry has been made. This is because - in common with other UK prize draws operating outside lottery licensing - the contract for the entry is performed at the moment the entry is submitted into the draw pool.

    Under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, contracts for gaming, betting, or lottery services (which includes, on the same principle, prize draws) are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period.

    We will, however, always refund entries in cases of clear administrative error on our part, duplicate payment, or where we have refused or disqualified an entry for reasons unrelated to fraud or abuse. Refund requests of this kind should be sent to ollie@thegoldenpassport.co.uk.

  12. Liability

    Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

    • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
    • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
    • any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

    Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any entry into a draw is limited to the amount paid for that entry (where paid), or, in the case of free postal entries, to £2 per entry.

    We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to postal delay, internet outage, force majeure, governmental action, or supplier insolvency, except to the extent set out in clause 4 in respect of prize substitution.

  13. Data and privacy

    We collect, use, and store the personal information you provide when entering a draw strictly in accordance with UK data protection law (the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018) and our Privacy Policy, which you should read in full.

    In short: we only collect what we need to operate the draw, notify you if you win, and fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your data. We do not share it other than with the service providers we rely on to operate the draw, the charity partners named in the draw (and only in aggregate), and any regulator or court where legally required.

    You have the standard rights over your personal data under UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, erase, and object to processing. See the Privacy Policy for how to exercise those rights.

  14. Complaints

    If something has gone wrong, please tell us. Email ollie@thegoldenpassport.co.uk with "Complaint" in the subject line. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to respond substantively within 28 days.

    If you remain dissatisfied with our response and your complaint concerns our conduct of the draw, you may also raise concerns with the Advertising Standards Authority (under the CAP Code) or, in the case of a consumer complaint, through your bank or card provider in the first instance and, subsequently, through an alternative dispute resolution provider.

  15. Changes to these Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be clearly shown on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Changes do not apply retrospectively to entries already made in draws that are still open at the time the change is published - in other words, once you're in a draw, the rules of that draw are fixed.

  16. Governing law and jurisdiction

    These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from bringing proceedings in their local jurisdiction where consumer rights law requires.
